The Coterie of Caribbean Butlers was happy to partner with YouthBuild Bahamas to provide a six month training programme in Hospitality Skills training in four disciplines to at risk youth in the Bahamas. Training disciplines included Food and Beverage front of the house serving protocols, Housekeeping, Guest Services and Butler Apprenticeship. YouthBuild Bahamas is a pilot program of YouthBuild International. Key Goals of the adapted Bahamas program were to:• Establish a national YouthBuild program that serves unemployed and out of school young people and their communities across the Bahamas;• Increase the economic security and civic engagement of young people in the Bahamas; and• Improve citizen security in the Bahamas.• Focus on leadership development as a transformational process that strengthens employability, increases civic engagement, and improves communities.
